The best cycle routes around Camperduin
Love cycling? Then Camperduinen is an ideal base for beautiful rides through the dunes and along the coast. From your apartment you are out in nature in no time. Here are some of our favourite routes:
- Around the Schoorl Dunes: through the highest dunes in the Netherlands, past Egmond, Bergen and Schoorl.
- Art route Egmond and Bergen (about 49 km): past the artists' village of Bergen and the coast at Egmond.
- Cultural discovery tour: Alkmaar and Bergen (34, 41 or 65 km): the cheese city of Alkmaar combined with art and coast.
- Blanke Top der Duinen route (about 45 km): ANWB dune route past Camperduin, Hargen and Bergen aan Zee.
- Along the seaside resorts (about 50 km): dune landscape past Castricum, Egmond and Bergen aan Zee.
Around the Schoorl Dunes
A beautiful loop through the Schoorl Dunes, the highest and widest dune area in the Netherlands. You cycle past Egmond, Bergen and Schoorl on quiet paths with plenty of variety between woods, dunes and views. From your apartment you ride straight into nature.

Art route Egmond and Bergen (about 49 km)
A lovely route past two special villages. Bergen is known as an artists' colony with museums and galleries, and Egmond surprises with its coast and history. Along the way you also cycle through the Schoorl Dunes. A nice mix of art, villages and nature.

Cultural discovery tour: Alkmaar and Bergen (34, 41 or 65 km)
A curated ANWB route past the historic centre of Alkmaar with its cheese market, the artists' village of Bergen and Egmond aan Zee. You can choose from several lengths, from a short 34-kilometre loop to the full 65-kilometre ride. Ideal for combining culture, town and coast.

Blanke Top der Duinen route (about 45 km)
A beautiful ANWB dune route through the Schoorl Dunes, the North Holland Dune Reserve and the Pettemer Dunes. Along the way you pass the beaches of Camperduin, Hargen aan Zee and Bergen aan Zee, finishing at the Klimduin in Schoorl. A longer ride for sporty cyclists.
Please note: you need a PWN Duinkaart (dune pass) for the North Holland Dune Reserve.

Along the seaside resorts (about 50 km)
A long coastal route through the dunes, past the seaside resorts of Castricum aan Zee, Egmond aan Zee and Bergen aan Zee, with a detour to the cheese city of Alkmaar. Along the way you will see the white lighthouse of Egmond, among other sights. A lovely, sporty day out.
