Privacy policy
Privacy is important to Camperduinen Appartementen. When you book accommodation with us, you place your trust in us, and we value that. That is why we are committed to securing all personal data you entrust to us and storing it with care.
In this policy we describe how we use and process your personal data. You can also read how to contact us if you have any questions about your personal data.
Camperduinen Appartementen offers accommodation-related services online via its own websites, but also via other online platforms such as tour operator websites and social media. This privacy policy applies to all our platforms.
If you are an accommodation provider, we also recommend that you read the Privacy Policy for accommodation providers. Please also read our separate cookie policy, in which we explain how Camperduinen Appartementen uses cookies.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should no longer use our services. If you accept our Privacy Policy, you are very welcome to use our services.
Your privacy matters to us.
1. What personal data do we collect?
Without information, we cannot help you book accommodation. So when you use our services, there are certain pieces of information we ask for. These are fairly general things, such as your name, contact details and date of birth.
In addition, we collect information from your computer, phone, tablet or other device that you use to access our services, including the IP address, the browser you use and your language settings. In some situations, we also receive information about you from others or collect other information automatically.
1.1 Personal data you provide to us
Camperduinen Appartementen collects and uses information that you provide to us. When you make a Reservation, you are asked for your name and email address, home address, telephone number, payment details, date of birth and any special requests.
When you contact our customer service, we will also collect information from you. Guests may also be asked to leave a review to help future guests find what they are looking for. We will collect information from you that is included in your review.
You may also provide us with information in other cases. For example, if you are browsing on your mobile device, you may decide to allow Camperduinen Appartementen to see your current location, or give access to your contact details so that we can provide you with the best possible service and experience
1.2 Personal data we obtain from other sources
We receive data not only from you, but also from business partners. All information we receive from them may be combined with information you have provided.
For example, the reservation services of Camperduinen Appartementen are integrated into the services of business partners that you can find online. If you use these, you provide your reservation details to our business partner, who in turn forwards your details to us.
We also integrate services provided by third parties to facilitate payments between bookers and accommodation providers. These service providers share payment information so that we can manage and process your Reservation and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Another example is that we include telephone services in our platforms so that you can contact the booked accommodation if you have questions about your stay. For this purpose, we receive metadata about telephone calls (such as the location you called from, who you are and the date and duration of the call).
Accommodation providers may also share information about you with Camperduinen Appartementen, for example if you have questions about your upcoming reservation, or if a dispute arises about your Reservation.
2. Why do we collect and use your personal data?
The main reason we ask for your personal data is to help you manage your online Reservations and to ensure that you receive the best possible service. Your personal data may be used for:
Reservations: first and foremost, we use your personal data to record your online Reservation.
Customer service: by sharing your reservation information with us, we can contact you when necessary. This allows us to help you find the right Accommodation and respond to any questions you have about your Reservation.
Marketing purposes: we use your data for marketing purposes. For example, we use your contact details to inform you about our services by email. You can unsubscribe from this at any time. We may personalise the content of the website based on your information. Or, if you take part in other promotions (such as competitions), the data are used to manage these promotions.
Contacting you: we may also be in contact with each other at other times. This can be for various reasons: a request from you, an unfinished reservation, an invitation to leave a review, a survey, something related to your reservation or even safety warnings.
Secure service: to create a reliable environment for you and the accommodation providers, we use personal data for risk assessment and for detecting and preventing fraud and other undesirable activities.
Improving our services: we also use your personal data for analytical purposes. This analysis is aimed at improving the user experience and services for groups of users. This is part of our effort to optimise our booking platform and adapt it to your needs as a user.
Reviews: after your stay, you may be invited to leave a review. For this invitation, information about the accommodation and the stay is requested. By completing a review, you agree that it may be displayed on the page of the accommodation provider concerned on our websites, in our mobile apps, on our social media accounts and apps and on the online platform of our business partners.
This allows us to inform other travellers about the quality of the Reservation you used, the destination you chose or other experiences you wish to share.
If you indicate whether or not a guest review is helpful, we may combine this with feedback from other guests to sort and rank guest reviews. This allows us to help other travellers like you find the right destination and the best accommodation.
Legal purposes: in exceptional cases, personal data are used to comply with lawful requests from law enforcement authorities.
3. How do we share your data with third parties?
Various parties are integrated into the services of Camperduinen Appartementen. This happens in different ways and for different reasons. The main purpose is to share your data relevant to your stay with the accommodation provider so that you can complete your reservation.
There are also other parties that may receive some of your data. These are parties we engage to provide you with the services of Camperduinen Appartementen, financial institutions, advertisers and, in some cases, government authorities or other bodies.
We do not sell your personal data.
In certain circumstances we share your data with:
The accommodation provider: To complete your reservation, we pass on the relevant details to the accommodation provider. If you have a question about your trip, we may contact the accommodation provider to ask them to handle your request.
The local reception: for the provision of services.
Third-party services: we use third-party services to process your data on our behalf. This may be, for example, for sending marketing material or validating the accuracy of your email address. External service providers are bound by a duty of confidentiality and are not permitted to use your personal data for purposes other than those instructed by Camperduinen Appartementen.
Payment services: if a refund has been requested for your reservation, we need to share certain reservation details with the payment service and the financial institutions concerned in order to process the refund.
Authorities: we disclose personal data to law enforcement insofar as this is required by law or necessary for the prevention, detection and prosecution of criminal offences and fraud, or if we are otherwise legally obliged to do so.
Business partners: For distributing or advertising the services of Camperduinen Appartementen and/or our accommodation providers.
